Resumo:
Relational psychoanalysis attempts to integrate Interpersonal Psychoanalysis with the British Object Relations theory. Rationalists argue that personality emerges from the matrix of early formative relationships with parents and other figures. Group analysis seems to have the same convictions about the essence of the human mind. In a way, Foulkes, the founding father of group analysis in Britain, could be considered a pioneer of relational approaches. His suggestion that the conductor is also a participant subjected to the same group processes- an essential connection between group analysis and relational thinking – was proposed long before the distinction between one- and two-person psychologies emerged.  

 My presentation explores aspects of Relationality from both psychoanalytic and Group Analytic perspectives. Both theoretical considerations, as well as practical elements, will be discussed. We will get acquainted with a model of Concurrent Psychotherapy (Individual and Group Therapy at the same time); and deepen our understanding of enactments and self–disclosures as relational concepts underpinning our relational work with our patients and groups.  

Conferencista:
Uri Levin is a clinical psychologist, group analyst, and organizational consultant. He is a board member of the EFPP (European Federation of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy), chairs its Group’s section, and is a member of IIGA, GASi, and IAGP. He works mainly at his private practice in Tel Aviv with adults, couples, and adolescents.D
