1st Year
On the first year we look into a definition of Group Analysis, distinguishing it from Group Analytical Psychotherapy, by studying the main authors related with such technique. 1 - Introduction to Group Analysis and to Group Analytic Psychotherapy 2 - The Group Analysis learning process 3 - Freud: "Three contributions to the sexuality theory" 4 - Freud: "The study of dreams" 5 - Freud: "Further Recommendations in the Technique of Psyco-Analysis: Reccollection, Repetition and Working-trough” and “Inhibition, Symptom and Anxiety” 6 - “Instincts and their Vicissitudes” 7 - “Mourning and Melancholia” 8 - “AnalysisTerminable and Interminable” 9 - Five Lectures on Psycho-analysis 10 - Foulkes 11 - Cortesão I 12 - Foulkes & Cortesão 13 - Racker 14 - The psycho-emotional development of children
2nd Year On the second year, works from various authors relevant to the Group Analytical Theory are studied. The basic concepts of group analysis are introduced. 1 - Melanie Klein & Ronald Fairbairn 2 - Wilfred Bion & Donald Meltzer 3 - Heinz Kohut 4 - Cortesão II 5 - Winnicott 6 - Kurt Lewin 7 -Communication in Group Analysis: the individual’s birth and the group’s birth 8 - The Group Analytical Matrix and the Group Analytical Pattern 9 - Transference and Conter-transference 10 - Means of defense in a Group Analytical context 11 - Group analysis Ethics 13 - The attachment 14 - Bonding configurations
3rd Year On the third year, several pathologies experienced both by children and adults are studied. The Clinical seminars resume with displays of several study cases. The “Group Analytical healing process“ is defined and contact with research about group analysis takes place. 1 - Children’s psychopathology 2 - Depression 3 - Borderline and Narcissism Pathology 4 - Psychosomatic Pathology 5 - Psychosis Pathology 6 - Neurosis 7 - Group Analysis research methods and techniques 8 - Clinical Seminar I 9 - Clinical Seminar II 10 - Group Psychotherapies and Group Analysis 11 - Introducing neurological sciences 12 - Perlaboration 13 - The End of Analysis 14 - Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) in Group Analysis
4th Year On the fourth year, the Group Analytical Technique Theory is studied to the detail. The presentations taking place in Clinical seminars are the outcome of the trainee’s group analysis sessions.
